The RAID Master Rescue training program is for divers who are truly ready to take their first fin kicks into the world of safe diving. The course is design to help individuals firstly recognize signs of stress and identify problems before they become and incident. In the unlikely event that there is an incident, the course will also give divers the tools to help respond to emergencies and promote as positive outcome as possible. This program includes First Aid and Oxygen Administration Training.
Pre-Requisites - Explorer 30 or Advanced diver certification.
How long does it take? - 4 days for Rescue training, 1 day for First Aid and O2 provider training.
Day 1 - Classroom, Our instructor will review your quizzes and issue the final exam. Then we will work through practical first aid assessments and responses to emergency situations.
Day 2 - Classroom, We will make sure the First Aid and O2 training is complete, then review Master rescue skills and begin working on dry skills and assessments.
Day 3 - Swimming Pool, we begin by focussing on our personal rescue skills and review basic Scuba skills to make sure you are top. Then we will move onto responses to varying degrees of divers in distress, and we can safely help divers who are in a tough situation.
Day 4 & 5- Ocean Training, we will complete a series of 4 dives in the ocean over 2 days. During these dives there will be simulated rescue scenarios both on the boat and in the water. Students will be expected to respond to these scenarios, and then instructors will debrief and repeat any gaps that need to be filled.
Each day we will start at our shop at 8:00am – Location
You will need to bring your swimsuit, a towel, some suncreen (reef safe please) as well as a positive and engaged attitude! When we are on the boat, there is snacks, fruits, lunch and drinks all on board for you.
Day 1 & 2 – we will sit down in the classroom, review quizzes and then complete any practical work. Both these days usually finish around 3-4pm. Please bring a lunch or some small money.
Day 3 – we will get our equipment together and then head to Basaya swimming pool. We typically finish the swimming pool day back at the shop around 4:00pm. Please bring a lunch or some small money.
Day 4 – After meeting at the shop we will travel to Bali Hai pier and board our boat for the day. We will do 2 dives and have a hot lunch served part way through the day. We plan to arrive back to the shop around 4:00pm.
Day 5 – Similar to day 2, however after arriving back at the shop, there is some administrative things to finish up so plan to be a little bit later than 4:00pm.
